Hidden Valley 1
A view of hidden valley in Joshua Tree National Park. Originally, Hidden Valley was an area completely surrounded by rocky hills such as those in the background above. As a result, the protected inner area retained more moisture and developed its own micro-climate. Then, a rancher used dynamite to blast a gap in the hills so that his cattle could graze there. Smooth...real smooth. Anyway, Hidden Valley is a special place and well worth a stop. There is an easy hiking trail that will take you around the perimeter. You should check it out!
