Perseverance: Trees on Windswept Slope
On the slope of Altyn Peak, in Glacier National Park,'s Many Glacier area, there is a set of dead or nearly-dead trees that caught my eye. Their branches were permanently swept by the wind, and I wondered for how many long years they had clung to that slope through wind, rain, sun, ice, and snow, stubbornly living out their lives. Their geometry was irresistible to me, so I took this shot hoping to convey the sense of gritty, stubborn, hang onto life with both-fists feeling that I got when seeing them.
