2017 Solar Eclipse 02
The August 21st, 2017 Solar Eclipse, as seen from northern Kansas. This image shows some of "Baily's beads" (the mountains and terrain of the moon that show up as rough edges) and a few prominences (plumes of plasma and gas that project above the surface of the sun). The image has been colorized a little to compensate for the mylar filter I used. The mylar tends to show very white light, but I just preferred a warmer tone for my images.
